PASTOR

Bro. Mark McSwain has been pastor since 2001. He is a graduate of Union University in Jackson, TN and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.

He is currently attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in pursuit of a Doctorate of Ministry degree. He and his wife, Dottie, have two sons, Scott and Matthew.

"It is our mission to be a Bible believing and Bible teaching church. The focus of our worship is on the Word of God. We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God. It says exactly what He meant it to say. We make no apology for believing the Word of God to be true.

When the Bible is preached and taught as truth it speaks relevantly to life situations and needs today.

Therefore we maintain to:
    1. Preach the Word as absolute truth in a dynamic way.
    2. Apply its principles and truths to daily living.
    3. Allow the Holy Spirit freedom to work in our midst.
    4. Call individuals and the church body a closer relationship with a Holy God

Bro. John Norvell, Associate Pastor of Music and Senior Adults, has been serving at First Baptist Bemis for over 20 years. Your hearts will be blessed as he leads in worship and praise to our Lord. Bro. John loves the Lord and it is evident in the way he uses his gifts in a very moving worship.
